Essential Functions of the Job:
1. Assists with the prevention, assessment, care, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries to student-athletes in all sports programs. (70%)
2. Assists with arrangements for injury and illness treatment by team physicians or other physicians as necessary. (10%)
3. Assists with the maintenance of complete, accurate and detailed medical records for all student athlete injuries. (5%)
4. Assists in coordinating the master schedule of athletic training room staff and coverage. (5%)
5. Assists in directing or directs sport camps as requested or required. (5%)
6. Performs other duties as requested or required, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description. (5%)
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and BOC certification
Louisiana-LSBME licensure at date of hire
Current CPR/First Aid/Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) Certification
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Competencies:

Ability to interact effectively with coaches, administrators, student athletes and vendors
Extremely organized, self-starter, intrinsically motivated
Strong organizational, management and leadership skills
Proven ability to multi-task effectively
Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
Proficient computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets
Availability to work flexible work schedule including nights and weekends
Travel with sport teams for away contests
Thorough knowledge of NCAA and American conference rules and regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree
Two years’ experience as a certified athletic trainer (NATABOC)
Previous Athletic Training Experience in Division I Intercollegiate Athletics
NCAA Related: Ensures that all Department of Athletics and University related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Attends and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the Athletic Department’s efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations. Seeks interpretations from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Reports potential rules violations immediately. Completes required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. Monitors all of their areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
