Produces television or radio programs. May supervise other personnel. Incumbent may be required to operate a vehicle from the TTU/TTUHSC motor pool to perform the job.

About the Department and/or College :

Texas Tech Athletics has a commitment to serving and working with various populations and demonstrated alignment with the University’s strategic priorities and values-based culture.

Major/Essential Functions :

  • Serves as the primary producer for all live events produced for ESPN+ during home athletic contests, including but not limited to men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, and track & field.

  • Assists with the design, development, and implementation of animated graphics, stat pages, and sponsored elements for use on all linear and digital broadcasts through collaboration with ESPN / Learfield and the content creation teams.

  • Manages all formats and commercial inventory to ensure consistency and quality across all platforms.

  • Occasionally creates video content for use across multiple platforms with an emphasis on feature content for live broadcasts.

  • Conceptualizes and presents new ideas in workflows and designs to increase on-air quality.

  • Assists with the hiring and training of students and part-time staff on a variety of production equipment, including Sony MVS 7000X Switcher /Sony HDC 2550 Triax Cameras, Ross XPression and Ross / Abekas Mira replay systems.

  • Performs additional duties/tasks and assumes additional responsibilities as needed or assigned by the Assistant AD for Broadcast Services.

Required Qualifications :

Two or more years education or training beyond high school with emphasis on professional video production or related area plus two years experience in a video/multimedia environment; OR a combination of education and/or experience to equal four years.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, communications, media production, sports media, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience producing broadcasts for ESPN+ or working within ESPN broadcast standards and production requirements.

  • Demonstrated experience with live production equipment and systems, including production switchers, broadcast cameras, replay systems, and graphics platforms.

  • Experience with Sony MVS production switchers and HDC-series cameras, Ross XPression graphics, and Ross/Abekas Mira replay systems.

  • Experience developing and implementing broadcast graphics, statistical elements, sponsored content, and other on-air elements.

  • Knowledge of live broadcast workflows, commercial inventory, formatting, and quality-control standards.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with experience working across broadcast, creative, sponsorship, and external partner teams.

  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours, as required by athletic events and broadcast schedules.

  • Eligibility to drive TTU vehicles, including a valid U.S. driver license and two years of driving experience.
