Assistant Director of Marketing

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 12th Man Rewards Program - Lead facilitator of the 12th Man Rewards program that rewards fans for their attendance at home Athletics events across all sports and engagement with the Aggies.

  • Marketing & Advertising Initiatives - Develops and establishes priorities for achieving goals with respective sport 365 meetings and discussions related to Marketing in support of our student-athletes and coaches. Responsible for planning and implementing marketing initiatives to increase attendance at assigned sports (i.e. track & field, soccer, etc.) while working closely and communicating effectively with coaches and staff. Evaluates existing marketing strategies and provides input into improving overall effectiveness of those strategies.

  • Youth & Community Engagement - Responsible for marketing and implementing the Junior Aggie Club (JAC, Kids' Club) program to solicit new members, create programming throughout the academic year, and work with the respective athletics marketing administrator to include JAC activities in their marketing plans for the season(s). Additionally represent A&M Athletics at select community outreach events.

  • Promotions & Sponsorship Activation - Create, direct and enhance in-game promotions to maximize the fan experience. Work with A&M Sports Properties (corporate partnership rights holder) to implement sponsored inventory as it relates to assigned sports and maximize engagement on sold promotions. Assist fellow marketing team members with promotions for their assigned sports.

  • Student Development - Assist in managing and mentoring 20-25 student marketing team employees. Assist with hiring throughout the year and providing performance feedback at the end of the fall and spring semesters.

  • Compliance - Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations. Establishes and ensures communication and enforcement of rules and regulations for all staff members and student workers supervised.

  • Project & Event Management - Appropriately manages time and budget to meet project goals by deadline. Manages gameday/event staff to maximize efficiencies and collaborate with personnel as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Four years of marketing/promotions experience in a sports related/customer service environment


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Goal & task oriented with strong customer relations, problem solving, and communications skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Master's Degree

  • 4 Year in a sports related field or customer service

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Creative and self-motivated to accomplish tasks assigned
