The Athletic Content Coordinator is responsible for creating high-quality, emotive motion and still imagery to support the Stetson University brand and marketing/communications goals. This includes specific student, alumni, and faculty profiles; specific imagery for web, digital, or print marketing; and important university moments, meetings, and events involving external organizations, university partners, and benefactors. This position works full-time hours, with some flexible shifts, including weekends and evenings, depending on when events are scheduled to take place. The Coordinator performs the planning and producing of photo/video shoots and completes all post-production processing; the editing, correction, archival, and file storage; and the digital imaging necessary to the production of high-quality photographic prints and images for exhibition, publication, research, or preservation purposes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Employment duties include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for the timely creation of storyboards for photoshoots, videos, social media content, & instructional videos
Shoot and edit photos and video imagery to support Stetson University brand marketing and university communications goals
Attend events for coverage of athletic activities with video and photo assets
Script and edit videos in a way that increases shareability for social media outreach
Collaborate with the University Marketing and associated creative, social media, and storytelling departments
Stay up to date with trends and marketing standards and integrate them into video and photography
Work with a positive attitude and contribute to group creative discussions
Work well with a team and thrive on creative storytelling through media as well as meeting individual design goals in a fast-paced, creative environment
Work cooperatively with professional staff to accomplish departmental goals and meet established deadlines
Assist with special projects as assigned
Create reports and spreadsheets as requested
Perform other site and position specific functions as assigned
Expert use of Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects
Strong conceptual ability with knowledge of lighting, composition, camera/lens combinations, theory, and techniques of modern digital photography and cinematography
Extremely organized, with the ability to manage a large and constantly growing library of assets
Knowledgeable of best export/encoding practices for delivery across a wide range of channels: high-resolution still photography for print, HD/UHD video for broadcast, and optimized video and stills for social media including YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, etc.
Confident in assessing the goals of a project and determining what blend of assets are needed
Ability to deal effectively and courteously with internal and external inquiries through proactive and helpful communication
Ability to use data analytics and reporting in tracking media effectiveness
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with student-workers and/or student-interns, co-workers, and university constituents.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent management skills and the ability to prioritize work and maintain equipment
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Ability to move up to 50 pounds frequently
A bachelor’s degree in digital arts, photography, videography, or related field
Minimum of 4 years of experience in the field
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as determined by the University’s auto insurance carrier.
