This is a professional position responsible for producing, directing, and assisting in the athletic department’s coordination of digital and social media content, including on camera hosting, to enhance the overall exposure and awareness of the department. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, sports management/marketing, or a related field is required.
Two years of related experience is required. Experience in Adobe Creative Suite is required. Experience in social media management software is required. Experience in graphic design is preferred. Additional education may substitute for experience on a basis set forth by the Department of Human Resources.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Manages social media content for all departmental social properties.
Creates and maintains robust social media content calendar.
Collaborates with staff members and vendors to execute creative assets and content for digital platforms.
Strategizes, develops, and manages integrated social media campaigns, including paid advertising, to align with marketing efforts, enhance brand visibility, drive ticket sales, and support key athletic initiatives, using performance data to inform creative direction and budget allocation.
Tracks, analyzes, and reports social media performance.
Shoots videos and photos for departmental needs.
Publishes and tracks sponsored content on social media platforms.
Serves as primary point of contact for photo-sharing platforms.
Clips short videos from games, live shows, and other events that are visually engaging and follow brand guidelines.
Measures effectiveness of social media content through performance analytics.
Develops creative storytelling elements to enhance brand engagement across digital platforms.
Leads the development and execution of comprehensive email marketing strategies that drive fan engagement, ticket sales, and brand loyalty across all sports.
Leads regular social/creative meetings with appropriate staff focusing on content and social strategy
Assists with overarching sports marketing, communications, public relations, and sales campaigns.
Assists with creation of marketing, communications, and creative content to engage with fans.
Serves as a member of the External Affairs team.
Works in conjunction with coaches and sports to develop and execute recruiting materials as needed.
Develops new ways to promote all athletic teams and departmental mission statement by taking advantage of emerging technology.
