The
University at Buffalo Division of Athletics invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of
Sr. Associate Athletic Director/Deputy Athletic Director for External Operations. Serving on the executive team, the incumbent will report to the Vice President and Director of Athletics. The incumbent will provide strategic plans and implement programs to meet fund-raising goals for development, while developing and executing strategies to ensure collaboration and coordination among the external units. The incumbent will provide guidance to sports programs that they will oversee.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
- As a member of the Athletics’ executive team, the incumbent will represent the initiatives and plans on behalf of Athletics to university centralized services to ensure the Athletics’ and University’s vision are practiced and in alignment.
- Provide clear leadership and vision for all external units within the Division of Athletics.
- Create and implement comprehensive sales and fundraising strategies.
- Oversee the planning and execution of the Athletic Department’s marketing and strategies.
- Sport oversight responsibility.
- Some travel required.

UB Athletics is committed to hiring and developing staff in a high performing culture that supports the outstanding work of our student-athletes and staff. The Bulls compete at the NCAA D1 – FBS level in the Mid-American Conference. UB sponsors 16 varsity sports programs. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years of experience in Intercollegiate Athletics, fundraising and/or marketing.
- Master’s Degree with 4 years of experience in Intercollegiate Athletics, fundraising and/or marketing.
- Knowledge of NCAA regulations required.
Salary Range
$125,000 - $155,000

The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.
