We are seeking applicants for the position of Financial Analyst, FP&A, reporting to the Senior Associate Athletics Director, Director of Finance. This position will gather financial data, develop models, and create summaries to help guide the DAPER’s long-term financial health and growth.
Your responsibilities include:
Ensure the management of accounting deliverables for monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting is maintained and accurate
Prepare consolidated forecasts, budgets, and multi-year financial plans and analyze trends in revenue, expense, financial aid, capital expenditures, and other related areas.
Summarize / analyze financial and operating data; create financial models to inform business decisions
Manage all financial data and systems used to organize and store the department’s financial information
Develop financial models to adjust forecasted results for changes in collegiate landscape, additional headcount, and efficiency improvements.
Perform ad hoc analysis and financial modeling to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for growth
Provide competitive benchmarking against athletic department peer set to help inform business decisions.
Analyze operating results compared to plan, prior periods, and forecasts.
Assist in the preparation of reports for annual NCAA Agreed Upon Procedures and Equity in Athletics audits.
Assist with other financial tasks/duties as necessary and assigned.
To be successful in this role you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
Intimate knowledge of general finance and accounting principles.
Demonstrated communication skills (oral and written)
Advanced analytical skills and an ability to interpret data.
Comfortable with cross-functional communications / working with multiple stakeholders
Sound judgment and attention to detail in all facets of the job.
Strong presentation skills to communicate with diverse audiences (e.g. staff, senior leadership, university stakeholders, etc)
A high degree of facility with Microsoft Office and the G-Suite, and specifically Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
In addition, our preferred qualifications include:
Knowledge of University-specific finance and accounting principles.
Advanced knowledge of the University’s financial systems (Oracle, etc.).

This position, along with all DAPER coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Stanford’s intercollegiate athletics program and for the reputation of Stanford University. This position is responsible for ensuring that his/her/their involvement with Athletics Department activities maintains the integrity of the University’s reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students and alumni. Additionally, this position must comply with University policies and procedures, NCAA and ACC rules and regulations.
The expected pay range for this position is $79,000 to $110,000 per annum.
