Head Coach - Women’s Soccer

St. Norbert College, a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking a Head Coach for Women's Soccer.

Specific responsibilities:

  • With the assistance of the Director of Athletics, defines and achieves annual enrollment goals of the program. Recruits qualified student-athletes to participate in the program. Recruiting is by direct mailings, hand written notes, electronic, telephonic and in-person (travel required) means. Assumes responsibility for the retention and matriculation process for student-athletes in their athletic and academic endeavors.

  • Responsible for the overall function of the women’s soccer program within conference and NCAA regulations. Represents the program and the College with internal or external groups as needed. Completes administrative coaching responsibilities such as preparing practice and game plans, scouting opponents, academic studies follow-up with players, check-ins, etc. 

  • Manages funds by preparing the budget, in collaboration with administrative staff, and exercising authority for all expenditures related to the program. 

  • Teaches approximately 1-2 activity courses in physical education annually OR game day management responsibilities. 

  • Develops a competent and effective coaching staff by recruiting and hiring qualified applicants, providing guidance on departmental or college policies and coaching philosophy, encouraging professional development through participation in coaching decisions and recruiting activities, making coaching assignments based upon qualifications, supervising coaching activities, and evaluating performance.

  • Responsible for fundraising efforts on behalf of the program. 

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervision Exercised Over: 

  • 1-3 assistant coaches and 1-3 student workers. 

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment or commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College.

  • Demonstrated coaching and/or playing experience.

  • Strong ability to recruit student-athletes in the context of NCAA Division III philosophy.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to handle fast-paced environments and multitask.

  • Professional interaction with coworkers and customers, especially in conflict resolution.

  • Proficiency in basic math and computer programs like Microsoft Office and Google Apps.

  • Good decision-making, judgment, and leadership abilities.

  • Experience in organizing and completing projects, as well as delivering presentations to large groups.
