The assistant volleyball coach will assist the university in meeting the specified goals of the mission statement and the athletic department through professional management of the volleyball program. The goals are to assist the Head Coach with 1) providing opportunities and support for SEU student-athletes to achieve academically and athletically at the highest level, to ensure the growth of life skills, 2) providing every opportunity for the volleyball program to compete for Lone Star Conference Championships, 3) operating with quality and integrity in the athletic department's role as a focal point for school identity and spirit, 4) supporting the community through public service.

Baccalaureate degree.
Work experience within intercollegiate athletics, preferably amongst volleyball coaching staffs.
Ability to successfully pass NCAA Coaching Education Modules within one month of hire.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication, administrative, and organizational skills.
Basic familiarity, appreciation and empathy with the role of intercollegiate athletics and its relationship to the university, and the capacity to articulate that role and interact comfortably with those individuals and constituency groups (student-athletes, alumni, coaches, parents, ) crucial to the advancement of athletics at SEU.
Highly motivated with a capacity for independent work within the context of an intensely goal-oriented environment.

Essential Responsibilities Include: Assist head coach with coaching and administrative duties for the volleyball program.
Primary Responsibilities Include
Actively assist in the planning and direction of the overall practice strategy for the team, including but not limited to instructing student-athletes in positional specific techniques, instructing student-athletes in tactical strategies and instructing student-athletes through the use of film review; practice and competition.
Oversee team travel for competition, confirming with head coach before every purchase/ decision.
Organize travel arrangements, including but not limited to bus reservations, hotel reservations, meals on the road and travel itineraries.
Oversee team nutrition, confirming with head coach before every purchase/ decision, including but not limited to purchasing day-to-day snacks for practice, pre-game meals, post-game meals/ snacks and all nutrition while on the road.
Oversee team equipment purchase and organization, confirming with head coach before every purchase/ decision, including but not limited to purchasing and organizing practice gear, competition gear and travel gear, while maintaining accurate inventory, i.e. tracking what's present and what's needed.
Assist in the overall recruiting strategy and implementation of evaluating, identifying and recruiting student athletes; correspondence with prospective student-athletes, parents, recruiting coordinators, and club coaches.
Monitoring email inbox and updating recruiting platform accordingly.
Traveling to club competitions/ practices, high school competitions/ practices and various camps around the country.
Assist with camp operations, including but not limited to promotion of camp within community, promotion of camp online, organizing camp registration, and assisting with day-of logistics.
Ability to accept supervision, assignments, change and correction, with proven effectiveness in dealing with a wide range of professionals, staff, and administrators.
Ability to operate and collaborate within Microsoft Office, Google Suite and VolleyMetrics with effiency.
Secondary Responsibilities Include:
Assist with keeping stats and charts during practices and competitions, with ability to calculate and navigate statistical data for feedback and coaching decisions.
Assist Head Coach with monitoring of program's social media accounts, including but not limited to, content creation process (idea, planning, execution} and communication with prospective student-athletes.
Agility to work with student-athletes and coaches and should be comfortable speaking to groups of various sizes.
Assist with counseling student-athletes concerning academic progress.
Chronicle and report NCAA required data to the athletic compliance office.
Pursue professional development opportunities, including but not limited to courses and conventions.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics, or the sport-specific supervisor.
