Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Serve as primary media relations contact for assigned sports (Sports – TBD)
Write previews, recaps, and personal interest stories for sbubearcats.com
Assist in the creation and management of all SBU athletics media i.e: graphic design, website maintenance, and social media
Utilize social media platforms to enhance the reach of content and engagement
Report directly to Director of Media Relations
Qualifications/Requirements: A bachelor's degree is required with the interest in pursuing a graduate level degree at Southwest Baptist University. Knowledge of sports and ability to work on weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in collegiate athletic communications in example: writing graphic design, video editing, or social media strategy.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Adobe
Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects with deadlines
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Compensation: The appointment carries tuition for 12 hours of graduate classes over two semesters plus a stipend of $7,500.00 over the academic year.
