Overview

To build on a strong foundation of achievement and contribute to the realization of its ambitious institutional goals, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) invites applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Director of Championship Resources (AP26-033). As the only Division I institution in the Metro East region of St. Louis, SIUE Athletics is on the rise. This critical position will work with the department’s coaches and staff as well as campus and community colleagues to generate resources to foster competitiveness, academic excellence, and student-athlete experience.

SIUE Athletics has 16 Division I sports and approximately 280 student-athletes competing in both the Ohio Valley Conference and Mid-American Conference (wrestling). What You Will Do

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and growth of the annual fund for the Athletics Department.

  • Collaborate with the Office of Advancement and SIUE Foundation to plan and execute Giving Tuesday and One Day, One SIUE initiatives for Athletics.

  • Plan and execute annual fundraising strategies and events that support Athletics Department needs and individual sport programs.

  • Work in conjunction with the Assistant Athletics Director / Administration and Special Events to plan and execute donor stewardship and fundraising events.

  • Coordinate key events such as the Red & Black Benefit, Cougar Champions Classic, Cougar Champions Fund Appreciation Dinner, and basketball hospitality.

  • Develop and implement strategies to strengthen donor engagement and maximize fundraising outcomes.

  • Ensure alignment of all fundraising efforts with departmental and institutional goals.

Schedule:

Schedule varies - will require nights and weekends

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in sport management, business, marketing, communications, or a related field.

  • One (1) year of fundraising (preferably in an athletics-related field) or sales experience  

  • Experience with Microsoft Office

  • Position requires considerable initiative, creativity, and independence

  • Evidence of strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign and Photoshop

  • Experience with Raisers Edge
