Broadcast & Video Production Coordinator

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Supervise the coordination, production, and online live delivery/programming of multi-camera sporting events to ESPN+ and other ESPN platforms as required by Southeast Missouri’s department of Athletics and the Ohio Valley Conference

  • Supervise multi-camera production and post-production for all ESPN+ online telecasts

  • Oversee students working in production and post-production environments for the successful creation of sports content including staffing and supervising commentators for select ESPN+ events

  • Coordinate with ESPN, the OVC and SEMO’s department of Athletic Strategic Communications when scheduling programming to include productions for all home football and basketball games, as well as additional home events selected across other sports annually

  • Provide live program and other camera feeds to replay system as mandated by DV Sport and the OVC for official instant replay at home sporting events, and scheduling of necessary replay technicians

  • Serve as the department of Athletics’ liaison with the OVC and ESPN, and attend all training sessions and meetings so that expectations are met

  • Provide highlight melts to opposing schools, the OVC, NCAA, media, and other Athletics/University personnel as needed

  • Assist with the production of digital content for use on athletics website, social media channels, and in-venue videoboards (i.e., student-athlete features, coach interviews, director of athletics updates)

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mass communication or a related field - December 2024 graduates will be considered (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of NewTek switching systems, Panasonic P2, SD, and Mini-DV camera technology

  • Ability to supervise and foster a teamwork environment with student workers and event staff

  • Ability to incorporate proprietary software from ESPN into existing systems, including graphics packages and post-production software

  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work alternate work schedules including evenings and weekends

  • Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within and outside the University community
