Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance & Eligibility

Full Time
Southeast Missouri State University seeks applicants for a 12-month, full-time position of Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance and Eligibility. This position reports to the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics and is a member of the department’s senior leadership team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provides leadership to the department relative to education, monitoring, enforcement and maintenance of a culture of NCAA compliance
- Administers the department’s compliance program and recommends appropriate actions to ensure compliance throughout the department is consistent with Ohio Valley Conference and NCAA regulations
- Assigns, directs and effectively supervises Compliance Office and Athletic Academic Support Services
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of NCAA rules compliance, as well as legislative and academic initiatives
- Serves as liaison between coaches and institution’s Office of Admissions and Student Financial Services offices
- Directs a comprehensive compliance education program
- Works collaboratively with institution’s Student Financial Services office to monitor financial aid offers and renewals
- Investigates and reports rules infractions
- Monitors compliance budget, Student Assistance Fund, and department’s overall scholarship budget
- Prepares waivers and assists with filing annual reports
- Attends athletic events as required
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent
- Experience with NCAA compliance and eligibility processes on an institution’s campus, NCAA national office or conference office
- Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
- Understanding of or experience using the NCAA Compliance Assistant program
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions while under pressure of meeting deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with coaches, students, faculty, community and media
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
