Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
FUNDRAISING / DEVELOPMENT / MANAGEMENT (70%):
· Initiate, cultivate, solicit and steward all assigned and major gift prospects for all approved fundraising priorities of the Legacy Foundation; includes actively cultivating a portfolio of major gift donors.
· Strategic team focus on major gifts in support of the Lasting Legacy Capital Campaign (2024-28) from a national donor base. Major gifts include pledges of $25,000 or more. The capital campaign is currently in its ‘silent phase’ and is the first capital campaign in the Stadium’s history.
· Achieve team and individual fundraising goals as established by the President of the Foundation with guidance from the Board of Directors for specific metrics, including but not limited to dollars raised, contacts made, proposals submitted, and meeting established campaign goals.
· Develop identification, cultivation and solicitation strategies for new prospects towards single, multi-year or planned gift commitments with a results-based, relational attitude in support of annual goals
· As part of prospecting, develop relationships with alumni, parents, staff and other development directors at UCLA, Big Ten schools and other relevant universities and organizations that are components to the Rose Bowl Stadium’s history.
· Work closely with the President, VP of Advancement, Board and Advisory members, and community members to identify new, qualified major gift prospects locally, regionally and nationally. This includes the ability to anticipate, recognize and grow knowledge of constituencies sufficient to render credibility in assessing fitness of prospects for major gifts.
· Assist with government relations initiatives on a local, county, state and Federal level, including the Historic Stadium Caucus.
· Oversight and growth of the Rose Bowl Alumni Network
· Coordinate, solicit, and oversee the day-to-day of the Rose Bowl Brick Campaign
· Explore and execute other ancillary fund and prospect development opportunities such as special events, raffles, auctions and more, including collaborative planning with ticketing, sponsorship and marketing departments (as needed)
· Lead the planning and execution of event day marketing and promotion throughout stadium related to Legacy Foundation initiatives
· Manage, schedule, and organize all Legacy graduate assistants and interns as needed to maximize exposure and benefit to Legacy for live and community events. This includes the recruitment, organization and management of volunteer personnel as well as direct any individuals or committees of influence and affluence in fundraising protocols and competencies.
· Participate in City of Pasadena, San Gabriel Valley and regional community events and activities as needed.
· Attend conferences and professional development seminars to stay current with fundraising strategies and best practices.
HOSPITALITY / EVENTS / DONOR STEWARDSHIP (20%):
Coordinate, grow and manage donor and hospitality events, as needed, to benefit the Foundation’s mission; working directly with stadium Event Managers to coordinate and execute planning of each Legacy-based event.
Collaborate and strategize with partner departments including Legends Premium Seating, Learfield / JMI Sports, and Enterprise Events, including pre-event donor/client hospitality opportunities through official tailgating functions.
NON-PROFIT ADMINISTRATIVE LEADERSHIP (10%):
Assist with Legacy accounting administration processes, including but not limited to:
o Tracking and maintaining Legacy’s operating budget with the President
o Annual support of the independent financial audit
o Process gifts, including the appropriate tracking with the Finance department and donor follow up correspondence such as thank you letters and other IRS compliance initiatives

Commitment to working as a member of a team and collaborate with colleagues. Maintain a cultural competency and sensitivity with the ability to understand different cultural contexts and viewpoints while demonstrating respect for others; includes adapting to different cultural settings and accepting cultural differences.
Education and/or Experience:
Master’s Degree, or ongoing credit towards a master’s degree is preferred, but not required.
Minimum of five years experience in soliciting gifts or donations at a nonprofit organization in good standing, with history at an intercollegiate or professional athletics organization desired.
Proven record of knowledge in the full spectrum of philanthropic fund development, including special gifts, major gifts, capital campaigns, special events, prospect research, proposal development and gift planning.
Demonstrated ability to cultivate, solicit, close and steward major gifts.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking; ability to communicate positively and effectively with a diverse audience.
Must exhibit attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills; remain professional under pressure.
Willingness and ability to travel.
Protect confidentiality in all communications regarding proposed and consummated gifts.

Pay Range: $79,976 - $123,963
The base pay range for this position may vary depending upon a number of factors including the individual candidates’ experience, qualifications, skills and competencies. This base pay is part of an overall package that is designed to compensate and recognize employees for their work and achievements. This position may be eligible for additional bonuses and commission incentives.
