Serve as the video engineer on events for both linear and non-linear broadcasts. Oversee the preparation, setup, and operation of, video systems for live sporting events, live streaming, and special events. Work with the Director of In-Venue Production in planning, design, construction, and operation of engineering facilities for Purdue Athletics. Oversee the setup and maintenance of all audio/video production equipment. Evaluate personnel, materials and equipment needs to ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance to maximize system performance. Determine equipment needs and make recommendations to the Director of In-Venue Production. During live sporting events, responsible for ensuring all equipment is performing and manage the technical aspects of the production. During large events, serve as engineer in charge (EIC), video technical director or assistant video director. Supervise and instruct staff and student workers in video production, engineering assistance and video philosophy. Work with game day producers and a variety of coworkers, students, broadcast teams, and clients to add technical support.
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Communications, Radio Television and Film, Broadcast Journalism, or related field.
Minimum of 4 years of technical production work in linear/non-linear broadcasts Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) or Society of Motion Picture and Television
Efficient time management, dependability, thoroughness, project management, team-oriented cooperation, and strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to operate and troubleshooting video systems.
Ability to maintain video system equipment.
Knowledge of video editing, production, and content creation.
Expert knowledge of various standard current and up-and-coming broadcast technologies, including but not limited to: Fiber optic transmission, IP video, Mpeg Transport Stream (MPTS), Secure Reliable Transport (SRT), Network Device Interface (NDI), 3G Serial Digital Interface (SDI), Ross Switchers & GV/Evertz Routers.

Engineers (SMPTE) certification
