Director of Administration and Performance for Purdue Golf
Located in West Lafayette, Indiana at the flagship campus of Purdue University, this Director of Administration and Performance is an opportunity for an elite strength coach who loves golf and has an interest in gaining experience in intercollegiate athletics administration. The candidate of choice will be a vital member of the golf program and the athletics strength and conditioning staff. They will be the strength coach and administrative lead for two nationally acclaimed Big Ten programs. They will have the opportunity to coach and travel with the Purdue men’s and women’s golf programs, both of whom qualified for the 2024 NCAA championships. Job Summary
The Director of Administration and Performance for Men’s and Women’s Golf is a unique hybrid position responsible for instructing on specific protocol for sports program design for Men’s and Women`s Golf related to individual concerns, seasonal needs related to peaking for particular events and time considerations for the sport programs. Implement strength, agility, speed, flexibility and conditioning programs with the student-athletes. This includes technique instruction, demonstration of techniques and skills, motivation, development of discipline, testing and evaluation of athletes performance related to area of strength & conditioning. Will also work with other strength & conditioning staff to ensure the program instruction and design methodologies for sports are consistent across the area, and assist as needed with other areas. Additionally, the role will be responsible for handling the operations for the Men’s and Women’s Golf programs. This will include the areas of team travel, compliance, scheduling practices, student-managers, and organization of team calendar.
Minimum Qualifications
BA/BS required and MS/MA preferred in area that provides a knowledge base in exercise physiology and athletic performance.
4 years of strength & conditioning experience required. Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S.) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association required or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certification (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) required. Will consider individuals with multi-credentials to include National Athletic Trainers Association-Board Of Certifications (NACA-BOC) or Physical Therapist (PT). Experience in collegiate setting highly desired. TPI (Titlist Professional Institute) certification preferred.
