The Assistant Director of Marketing – Digital Content/Advertising is a high energy, outgoing person who isn’t afraid of being in front of the camera. The position will focus on developing new and engaging digital content, largely for social media, to promote and highlight our sport programs and department initiatives. This position will also work alongside the Assoc. Director of marketing to provide support for the athletics marketing department’s advertising and marketing strategy through digital and traditional advertising platforms.
This position is a part of the athletics marketing team but will work closely with our creative and communications teams on idea creation, development, execution and scheduling. In addition, the position will assist the Associate Director in developing and executing emails for the marketing department and work alongside the marketing team to create, place, track and evaluate overall advertising efforts for the athletic department. The selected candidate will report to the Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Fan Experience.
Content Creation
· Serve as the on screen personality for aspects of Purdue Athletics marketing and social media elements.
· Plans and creates social content to promote our teams and programs in effort to engage, entertain, and inform fans, alumni and students. Content will have a focus to support our non-revenue teams and marketing programs like Boilermaker Kids Club.
· Content capture and editing using phone and/or camera
· Stay up to date with latest social media trends, best practices and technologies
· Work closely with the marketing, creative and communication teams to develop social media content to increase team and brand awareness.
Work with marketing team to develop and implement revenue generating content for use on social media platforms as part of overall advertising campaign for sports such as football, men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball.
Digital/Traditional Marketing Collaboration and Execution
· Assist in coordinating digital marketing messaging and efforts across owned and paid digital assets.
· Collaborate with the communications team to ensure coordination of marketing effort across Purdue Athletics social media handles (i.e. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and other emerging platforms.)
· Promote and utilize mobile app as a key component of available marketing assets.
· Maintain and update marketing web pages on PurdueSports.com to accurately display the latest information and offerings for tickets, promotions and Kids Club.
· Collaborate with Creative staff to develop impactful marketing assets, proactively planning and strategizing usage.
Email Marketing Execution and Strategy
Coordinate with the ticket office, fan experience, communications, and creative team to build outgoing email solicitations to drive ticket sales and improve communications with fans and season ticket holders.
Assist in building strategy and best practices as it relates to email marketing and communications.
Measure results and track metrics to improve campaigns and report on email performance.
Execute marketing automation services in conjunction with department’s Paciolan product to effectively maximize resources available to promote Purdue Athletics and sell tickets to revenue-producing athletic events
Fan Experience
· Support all home football games and select basketball games.
· Assist with special events, tournaments and post-season competition.
· Other duties as assigned.
