Academics for Student Athletes is seeking an Academic Counselor. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
The Academic Counselor within Academics for Student Athletes provides academic support services and counsel to student-athletes as assigned. This position acts as the liaison among coaches, teaching faculty, staff, and student-athletes; works collaboratively with other units across campus in efforts to assist student-athletes effectively; and monitors and tracks the academic performance and eligibility of assigned student-athletes to ensure compliance with institutional standards and NCAA requirements
The Academic Counselor exercises regular and ongoing decision-making concerning the academic support for assigned teams and liaison with campus professionals; program assessment and enhancement; and dissemination of student-athlete academic performance data.
This position is responsible for making decisions related to providing academic support to student-athletes. Significant decisions are reviewed with the Head Academic Counselor/Assistant Director and Director of ASA.
This position requires a commitment to compliance with all National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and university policies and regulations.
