Assistant FIeld Hockey Coach

Old Dominion University is seeking candidates for Assistant Field Hockey Coach.  This position will assist the Head Field Hockey Coach in the management of the women’s field hockey program and the primary responsibility enhance the field hockey program and to instruct and counsel student-athletes in the field hockey program.

This position will assist in all aspects of running a NCAA Division I Field Hockey Program. Duties include but not limited to: program enhancement and promotion in all areas; managing talent assessment and recruitment of qualified student-athletes; monitoring student-athlete academic progress. Other duties include assisting the Head Coach with all aspects of coaching, practice organization, and assisting with team travel plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree with experience equivalent to an advanced degree. Working knowledge of fundraising and promotion of the field hockey program within the community and expanding reach with the ODUFH brand. Previous coaching experience at university level or equivalent.. Commitment to compliance with Conference and NCAA rules. Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

·         High level collegiate, club, or international coaching experience.

·         Experience with fundraising/promotion initiatives/ideas.

·         Social Media/Communications Experience.

·         High level collegiate, club, or international playing experience. 

·         Recruiting/Sales Experience.
