The Website/Digital Assistant Director serves as a member of the external relations team and is committed to excellence and advancement of the Department of Athletics through its strategic plan. Responsible for the daily maintenance and updating of OhioStateBuckeyes.com, the official website for the Department of Athletics, the Ohio State Buckeyes Mobile App and the Social Media Accounts. Department lead with the University for web accessibility and SEO and educates the Athletic Department on best practices. Coordinates and manages informational and promotional content for 36 varsity sports. Updates general department data, leads various digital initiatives and event coverage on nights and weekends for both the website and for social media outlets. Creates dedicated landing pages and information centers for significant events and department areas. Acts as liaison with web hosting company, coordinating and analyzing data to achieve top performance. Position also manages official athletics mobile app, serving as the lead contact with host provider and head content distributor. Position also will contribute to the content creation, management and strategy within the digital media team, encompassing social media engagement as well. Web manager also will serve as the streaming lead for special events, news coverage and press conferences. This position works in a creative and collaborative team environment where progress is embraced and innovation is encouraged.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
Experience in CMS management, front-end coding and web development. Proficient in HTML and CSS. Familiarity with Google Analytics as well as adept in Adobe Creative Suite. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience managing social media platforms is a plus. Experience in intercollegiate athletics preferred. Ability to manage a large flow of information and multiple projects. Additional experience with digital advertising and paid social is preferred. Experience in web accessibility and SEO. Creativity, self-motivation, exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse population necessary. This position requires an irregular schedule including night and weekend hours.
The pay range for this position is $58,700 - $77,200 (min - mid). The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's education and experience.
