Job Description
The Assistant AD – PR and Strategic Communication for the Football Program is a senior-level position responsible for developing and executing strategic communication initiatives that enhance the reputation and visibility of the football program and its leadership. This position will lead the social media creative team including video, photography and graphic design for the football program. Act as the lead spokesperson and writer in a high-pressure, high-stake environment, ensuring timely and accurate messaging. Coordinate public appearances, speaking engagements, and high-profile events involving the coach and team to ensure seamless execution. Prepare speeches, and key messages for public appearances. This person also serves as a key advisor to athletic department leadership and reports to the Deputy Athletic Director.
This position will be required to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 10+ years of experience in strategic communication, public relations, or a related field, preferably in high-profile organizations

Preferred Qualifications
10 or more years of experience in strategic communication, public relations, or a related field, preferably in high-profile organizations. Demonstrated expertise in managing media relations, crisis communication, and social media strategy. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives. Strong leadership and team management experience. Proven ability to operate under pressure and in fast-paced environments. Familiarity with collegiate or professional sports landscapes is highly desirable.
Proficient computer skills utilizing InDesign, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Photoshop. High-character individual with excellent communication, interpersonal and public relations skill. Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment under strict deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all types of people, including staff and management, professional and elite athletes, media members, local officials and stakeholders. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, administrative experience in a collegiate athletic program and a broad knowledge and experience in sports media and event administration.
