Job Description:

Mount Holyoke College is seeing a dedicated and knowledgeable Diving Coach to assist the Head Coach in managing all aspects of our Division III varsity diving program. This part-time role is integral to the success and development of our student-athletes, both in and out of the pool. This position runs for most of the academic year and includes evening and weekend hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead all diving practices, dryland training sessions, and meet-day activities.

  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards within the diving environment.

  • Recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes (PSAs), coordinating visits and maintaining compliance with all NCAA Division III recruiting regulations.

  • Provide support for the academic and personal growth of student-athletes.

  • Assist in logistical coordination for travel, meals, and fundraising activities.

  • Oversee maintenance and care of diving equipment, including boards, harnesses, and trampolines.

  • Utilize and manage diving meet software (e.g., e-Dive, DiveMeets).

  • Coach technique, introduce new dives, and provide detailed performance feedback and analysis.

  • Assist the Head Coach with duties as needed/assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of College diving.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Commitment to fostering a positive student-athlete experience.

  • Ability to coach and recruit highly motivated scholar-athletes in a rigorous academic setting.

  • Culturally competent with experience working in diverse environments.

  • Self-starter with a passion for the sport and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree

  • Competitive diving and/or previous coaching experience strongly preferred.

  • Lifeguard training certification.
