
Monmouth University is seeking candidates for an Assistant Athletic Trainer in their Sports Medicine division. The candidate would be expected to: assist with providing athletic training services for all student-athletes within the Athletics department – specific team assignments may vary from year to year; serve as a liaison with the strength and conditioning coaches in the rehabilitation of student-athletes, particularly over the summer months; assist with the maintenance of training room supplies.
This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.
Assist with overall administration of the Sports Medicine Department.
Assist with providing athletic training services for all student-athletes within the athletic department; Serve as primary Athletic Trainer for Women's Lacrosse (subject to change based on the needs of the department).
Assist the Director of sports medicine in providing athletic training services to the Women’s Lacrosse team.
Responsible for adhering to policies and procedures governing the Department of Athletics and the University and any applicable rules and regulations associated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA), or any other conference or organization with which the University is or becomes associated with which affects University Athletics.
Design and implement injury prevention strategies and collaborate with strength and conditioning department for implementation.
Serve as a liaison with the strength and conditioning coaches in the rehabilitation of student athletes, particularly over the summer months.
Assist with the maintenance of training room supplies.
Assist with the coordination of pre-participation physicals.
Assist with the implementation of the Athletic Department Drug Education Program.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree
Two academic years of collegiate athletic training experience.
Current New Jersey State Athletic Trainer licensure or obtain by date of employment.
NATABOC certified.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
Must have an understanding of the University's concern for academics as well as athletic excellence,
Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
Must be able to travel, work weekends, and in all types of weather.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
Master’s degree.
Prior experience working in Division 1 athletics.
