Head Football Coach

Essential Responsibilities

Coaching and Training

  • Developing and implementing training programs.

  • Conducting practices and training sessions.

  • Analyzing athletes’ performances and providing feedback.

  • Developing game strategies and playbooks.

  • Monitoring the physical and mental condition of athletes.

Recruitment

  • Scouting and evaluating potential student-athletes.

  • Communicating with high school coaches and athletes.

  • Organizing and conducting campus visits for recruits.

  • Coordinating recruiting trips and attending high school games and tournaments.

Administration and Management

  • Managing budgets and ensuring compliance with financial guidelines.

  • Scheduling games, practices, and travel arrangements.

  • Overseeing equipment and facilities.

  • Ensuring compliance with NAIA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.

  • Maintaining records and statistics.

Mentorship and Student-Athlete Support

  • Providing academic support and ensuring athletes maintain eligibility.

  • Offering personal and career advice.

  • Supporting athletes’ overall well-being and development.

Public Relations and Community Engagement

  • Representing the team and college at public events and functions.

  • Engaging with the media and promoting the program.

  • Participating in fundraising and alumni events.

  • Building relationships with fans, boosters, and the local community

Minimum Requirements

An earned bachelor’s degree, and at least 5 years of coaching experience with at least 2 years of experience in an offensive / defensive coordinator roll.  Preferences will be given to applicants with previous college football coaching and recruiting experience.

Preferred Education/Experience

An earned master’s degree, and at least 8 years of coaching experience with at least 3 years of experience in a offensive / defensive coordinator roll.  Preferences will be given to applicants with previous college football coaching and recruiting experience.
