
Missouri Baptist University invites applications for a Part-Time Competitive Dance Coach to assist in leading and developing a Christ-centered, competitive dance program within the NAIA athletic framework. This position supports the cultivation of athletic excellence, spiritual formation, and personal growth among student-athletes while contributing positively to the mission and values of Missouri Baptist University.
Assist with planning, organizing, and conducting practices, rehearsals, and training sessions for the competitive dance team.
Provide technical instruction and choreography support in styles commonly represented in collegiate competitive dance (e.g., jazz, pom, hip hop, or contemporary, as assigned).
Help prepare routines for conference, regional, and national competitions, ensuring alignment with governing body rules and standards (e.g., NAIA).
Offer constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance, technique, and execution.
Promote a positive, disciplined, and supportive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and accountability.
Support the academic success, personal growth, and spiritual development of student-athletes.
Serve as a role model consistent with the Christian mission and values of the University.
Assist the head coach with recruiting efforts, including evaluating prospective student-athletes and communicating with candidates as directed.
Participate in team meetings, events, performances, and travel as required.
Assist with administrative responsibilities such as attendance tracking, equipment organization, and coordination with athletic staff. [mobap.edu]
Ensure adherence to University policies and all applicable athletic association rules and regulations.
Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification (or obtain within a designated timeframe).
Represent Missouri Baptist University and the Athletics Department with professionalism at all times.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Demonstrated experience coaching or performing in competitive dance at the collegiate, high school, or advanced club level.
Strong knowledge of competitive dance techniques, performance standards, and training principles.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Prior collegiate coaching or assistant coaching experience.
Experience with NAIA, NDA, or similar competitive dance organizations.
Ability to assist with choreography and routine design.
