Head e-Sports Coach
Midway University is seeking a full-time head coach to lead its eSports program. This is a full-time, 12-month position reporting directly to the Athletic Director.
Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Recruiting to achieve roster goals, competitive success, and academic performance in accordance with admissions procedures and scholarship requirements.
Organizing, scheduling, and leading daily practice sessions, game plan preparation and strategy, competitions, and off-season sessions.
Coordinating logistics for competitions, including but not limited to roster management, scheduling, video, marketing, and statistics.
Supporting academic progress, enforcing discipline and sportsmanship behavior.
Hiring, supervising, and evaluating assistant coach and program volunteers.
Budgeting, fundraising, promoting and marketing the program.
Adhering to Midway University and any appropriate governing body policies and procedures.
Additional duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
Demonstrated coaching experience is required. Collegiate experience and recruiting experience are preferred.
Strong understanding of game mechanics, strategies used within the eSports community.
Familiarity with and working knowledge of eligibility rules, along with a strong commitment to compliance, are essential.
Ability to work flexible hours, in particular evenings and weekends.
This position will require a background and driving record check.
