Job Summary/Basic Function

Assist the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance develop, monitor and oversee all aspects of NCAA compliance for the University's 17 NCAA Division I athletic programs. Essential tasks include: ensure athletics observance of University, Conference USA, and NCAA Legislation in areas of personnel, amateurism, recruiting, initial and continuing eligibility, financial aid, extra benefits, awards, housing and playing and practice sessions and Division I membership requirements. Additional duties include but are not limited to: assist in all NCAA investigation of infractions of NCAA rules; oversee and assist with the implementation of a comprehensive rules education program; monitor all NCAA documentation required from the coaches for the operation of the athletic program. Serve as a member of the athletic compliance committee; assist to monitor all athletics research and interpret rules for coaches, student-athletes, administrators, university staff and other representatives of athletic interest. Assist with the university’s continued commitment to a quality NCAA Division I compliance program that is educational, cooperative and professional in nature; attend NCAA regional rules seminars and Conference USA meetings to remain current of the NCAA and legislative changes and perform related projects as assigned.
The position will also re-establish and oversee the Minority and Equity Athletic Committees. Additionally, the position will re-organize and oversee the NCAA Life Skills program for the student athletes and develop programs and speakers to enhance the overall student athlete experience in all physical mental and social aspects of college athletics. This will include the Name Image and Likeness legislation which allows athletes to sign financial agreements to be paid for their services with local businesses. The position will also monitor the Teamworks, Influncer and ARMS.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.

Required Related Experience

Three (3) years progressively responsible Division 1A NCAA administration experience that includes one of the total two (2) years of collegiate compliance administration or related legal experience. Special consideration given to experience in athletic compliance administration or graduate assistantship/internship in compliance.

Desirable Related Experience

Five (5) years of athletic or NCAA administrative experience or a related legal degree required with special consideration given to NCAA Compliance experience preferred
