Salary: $63,668 - $80,116; commensurate with experience

Job Summary/Basic Function: The Assistant Athletic Director for Development/Major Gifts primary function is to develop, organize, and implement the comprehensive strategy for all major gift fundraising efforts for the Blue Raider Athletic Association (BRAA). This includes the fulfillment, execution, and budget oversight of the Sapphire Circle, the exclusive philanthropic giving society for MTSU Athletics.  Will also be responsible for tracking the team's major gift fundraising activities, such as monthly and quarterly solicitations, visits, and portfolio reviews.  This position reports to the BRAA’s Associate AD, Development & Chief Development Officer. It works closely with the MTSU Foundation staff and athletics leadership to execute fundraising initiatives to raise private donor support for the Build Blue campaign and MTSU Athletics.  There will be occasional extended work hours to include evening and weekend events, i.e., athletics events, donor trips, BRAA board meetings, fundraising events, etc., and other related tasks and special projects as assigned.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree required. Masters preferred.

Required Related Experience: Two (2) years of direct fundraising, revenue generation, or related experience in soliciting and closing gifts/deals of $5K (annually) and higher. Transferable, related experience such as marketing, admissions, public relations, alumni relations, trust officer, or sales will also be considered. Note: A Master's degree and one (1) year of experience in the areas listed above may be considered in lieu of the two years of experience.

Desirable Related Experience: Three (3) years of direct fundraising, revenue generation, or related experience in soliciting and closing gifts/deals of $5K (annually) and higher. Transferable, related experience such as marketing, admissions, public relations, alumni relations, trust officer, or sales may be considered.  Master's degree preferred.
