The Graduate Assistant for Game Operations assists in management of all home athletic events and other events held at the athletic facilities and manages the event operations and scheduling of assigned sports.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Must have general sport knowledge
• Previous work in an athletics department
• Ability to set-up sport-specific facility needs
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and travel as needed for competitions
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with student athletes, coaches, campus community, and alumni.
• Time management skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of Mercer University
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Assist in the scheduling and supervision of daily operations of all athletic facilities
• Assists in coordinating maintenance of all athletic venues
• Assist with planning, set-up and breakdown of all major events
• Assists with special facility projects
• Plan and manage logistics for all home athletic contests for assigned sports, to include security, parking, hosting officials, facility supervision and all student workers for event management
• Manage assigned visiting team arrivals
• Supervision and training of student workers for event management
• Maintains positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with students, students’ parents, faculty, co-workers and managers
• Other duties as assigned
