Position Overview
The men’s basketball program represents Marquette University on a national scope with significant university reputation, financial, and donor relations implications. This role will assist with the logistics within the men’s basketball program. Specifically, this position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations in the office, support all aspects of the recruiting process, and lead in coordinating community outreach programs for the team. Will partner directly with many areas across campus including marketing, the president’s office, university advancement and community relations.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manage the day-to-day office operations including providing personalized support for coaches and staff in the office, answer and redirect phone calls, handle and order office supplies and shipments, greet and direct visitors, maintain office and program meal area cleanliness, and report maintenance needs. Monitor expenses, prepare reports, and oversee transactions.
2. Assist with the program’s recruiting efforts including travel arrangements for all assistant coaches while on the road, support on campus visits by coordinating recruit travel arrangements, visit itinerary, and act as the host liaison for the family during visit movements. Create individualized and program centric graphics. Assist in creating presentation content for on-campus and in-home recruit visits along with graphics to be sent electronically to recruits.
3. Manage and coordinate program community outreach efforts and philanthropic projects.
4. Assist with team logistics for away and home competitions including travel logistics and meals.
5. Assist with summer camp, serving a primary role in managing camp concessions and the gear store including organizing the store, maintaining inventory, and documenting store financials. Also responsible for the supervision of student employees which includes but is not limited to hiring, training, disciplinary actions, ending the student’s assignment, etc.
6. Serve as the main liaison with coaching staff families for program updates and execute family needs.
7. Assist with program events throughout the season such as team activities, meals, and end of the season awards ceremony.
8. Manage and organize the head coach’s practice plans.
