Assistant Women's Soccer Coach & Assistant Equipment Room Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Assistant Women's Soccer Coach

  • Serve as lead assistant women's soccer coach with specific coaching responsibilities assigned by the head coach;

  • Attend practices, competitions, meetings, planning sessions, and other essential soccer-related activities;

  • Assist the head coach in the administration and management of the soccer program as assigned;

  • Actively participate in the recruitment of student-athletes;

  • Demonstrate professionalism and engagement in professional development activities, including but not limited to, knowledge acquisition, staying current with teaching techniques, strategies, and trends, attending professional meetings, and serving in leadership positions in professional organizations;

  • Adhere to the rules, policies, and regulations established by Luther College, the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C), and the NCAA;

  • Demonstrate a willingness to support the mission, philosophy, and goals of Luther College, NCAA 111, and A-R-C;

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the head coach.

Assistant Athletic Equipment Manager

  • Effectively develop, organize, interpret, and store institutional equipment and uniforms

  • Proactively troubleshoot and respond to system inefficiencies

  • Assist administrative team in venue pre-competition preparation

  • Assist manager in hiring, training, and supervising of student-work team

  • Assist manager in inventory, ordering, and storing of concessions stand product

  • Coordinate athletics department laundry alongside team of employees

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred

  • 1-3 years of successful high school or college soccer coaching experience preferred

  • Experience working with CRMs and institutional recruitment programs preferred

  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and friends of the college

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

May require exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as noise and distractions. Substantial interaction with people is required and consistently demonstrating a positive and cooperative attitude is important. May require occasional lifting of equipment or supplies and/or the ability to lift, carry, push or pull or otherwise move objects. The job responsibilities require travel and working evenings and weekends.
