Assistant Director for Athletics Broadcasting #2

Louisiana Tech University is seeking candidates for an Assistant Director for Athletics Broadcasting. This is a full-time, 12-month position with benefits and reports to the Assistant Athletics Director for Athletics Broadcasting.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist the team responsible for the broadcasting operations for live athletic events on the Louisiana Tech campus. 
  • Assist in producing quality live, high-definition video webcasts via the required distribution platform.
  • Assist in the recruiting, hiring, and supervising of the broadcasting crew of student workers
  • Assist in managing of video boards and production software, including researching the latest technology and opportunities for increased production.
  • Work with external operations to create digital animations and graphic packages to ensure a sound gameday experience digitally and in-venue
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Competencies: 

  • Knowledge of live video production and related software.
  • Knowledge of professional standards and trends related to video production and sports broadcasting
  • Skill in the use of production cameras, replay systems, audio equipment, and graphics computers
  • Skill in using computer applications including operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, and production software.
  • Ability to work in all phases and roles of video production.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to set priority and complete assignments on time.
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with general supervision.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as necessary.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, radio/television production, cinematography, marketing, public relations, sport management/marketing/administration or related field required. 
  • Master’s degree preferred. 
  • At least one year of experience working in a similar capacity is required.
