Assistant Director, Ticket Sales

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director for Ticket Operations/Sales and Customer Services, the incumbent is responsible for developing strategies to maximize revenue through season tickets, group outings, and promotional nights; calls potential customers for season and group ticket sales for Long Beach State Athletics sports events to meet individual and department-wide ticket and revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ticket Sales: sell season tickets, partial ticket plans, group tickets, and ticket donations for all LBSU ticketed sports.

  • Ticket Sales Analytics: Run campaign reports on PacMail emails to generate and analyze clicks vs open rates.

  • Sport/Event Ticketing Operations: Assist with coordinating timelines, strategies, and materials related to renewals, new sales, seat allocations, printing, distribution, and reconciliation of tickets.

 Thorough knowledge of sports ticketing industry and best practices. Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; Ability to collaborate positively to effectively drive toward organizational goals. Seek and develop relationships that help grow and maintain a working and learning environment where every student, employee and community member is treated with dignity and respect.

 Ability to develop ongoing relationships with season ticket holders, local community, and donors. Ability to guide others in policy and procedures in support. Maneuvering comfortably through complex policy, process, and people-related organizational dynamics. Consistently achieve results, even under tough circumstances and thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. Must be proficient in the use of basic computer applications. Working knowledge of the University's and Department's cash handling policies.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.  Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.  Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Education and Experience

  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of related experience required.

  • Previous experience working in a Division I environment preferred.

  • Experience using Paciolan is preferred.

Physical Summary

Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

Licenses / Certificates

  • Valid CA driver's license required. Employees who are required to operate motorized vehicles and/or use their personal vehicle more than once a month on University business are required to take a mandatory Defensive Driving course and enroll in the DMV Employee Pull Notice (EPN) Program.

Compensation

Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $4,779- $5,000  per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,879 - $7,488 per month.

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

Time Base

Full-time temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
