Lake Forest College, located just north of Chicago, invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Swimming and Diving Coach. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking experience in a Division III collegiate coaching environment. It will offer the chosen candidate the opportunity to assist the head coach with all aspects of administering an established and successful collegiate aquatic program. The selected candidate will assist the head coach with a variety of duties to achieve the overall goals and objectives of the swimming and diving program. The position requires a significant commitment to evening and weekend work. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within the Forester athletic department, supporting the mission, goals, and procedures of both the department and the College.
Responsibilities:
Primary duties may include but are not limited to both on-deck and strength and conditioning coaching of all training groups, recruiting prospective student-athletes, meet management, scouting, and alumni relations. The successful candidate will foster a positive team environment and motivate student-athletes. Secondary duties include assisting the Sports Information Director with support during athletic contests, writing athletic stories and press releases, assisting with public address announcing, and determining weekly departmental student-athlete awards.
Qualifications:
Qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree (required), with collegiate playing and/or coaching experience preferred. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.
