Head Women’s Field Hockey Coach

A dynamic opportunity awaits an enthusiastic and experienced leader ready to guide a competitive NCAA Division III women’s field hockey program. The Head Coach is responsible for the overall vision, direction, and day-to-day operation of the program, fostering a positive team culture focused on student-athlete well-being, academic achievement, and competitive success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership that promotes a positive, inclusive, and development-focused team environment.

  • Oversee all practice and game planning, including training design, skill development, scouting, and game-day preparation.

  • Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes and meet established recruiting goals.

  • Support student-athletes in their academic progress, personal development, and overall success.

  • Manage all aspects of the program budget, including equipment purchases, team travel, and recruiting expenses.

  • Hire, mentor, and supervise assistant coaches, student-assistants, and team managers.

  • Ensure full compliance with all NCAA Division III, conference, and institutional policies.

  • Contribute to the broader Athletics Department through committee work, department events, and collaboration on enrollment, fundraising, and promotional initiatives.

  • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.

  • Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and philosophy.

  • Three to five years of collegiate coaching or playing experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated strengths in teaching, strategy, recruiting, leadership, and program management.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record.

  • Successful completion of a background check.
