Assistant Athletics Director for Business and Ticketing

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Manages the daily operations of the Athletic business office

  • Ensures that business and financial guidelines of the department are in full compliance with university, state, conference and NCAA guidelines

  • Oversees the monthly reconciliation of accounts, maintains income and expense records, and prepares financial reports

  • Supervises the preparation of purchase requisitions and vouchers

  • Process travel statements and reimbursements, helps develop and implement internal departmental travel policies

  • Serves as the primary contact to sell tickets to all ticketed events. Duties to include setting up and managing on-line ticketing, promoting of sale of tickets to all HCU publics, sales to any walk-up traffic, staffing all ticketed events, accounting for all revenue derived from ticketed events.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will oversee other hourly employees and/or student workers within the business area

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Familiarity with the following:

  • athletic department functions

  • general accounting principles and standards

Ability to:

  • work with departmental staff to encourage timely processing of all invoices and expenses

  • operate ticketing software

  • monitor compliance with NCAA rules

  • interact with the ticket-buying public

  • help develop future budgets and projections

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working within a collegiate environment or experience in a similar environment.

  • Some knowledge and understanding of sports

  • Ability to work well with various constituencies within an academic setting

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

  • Working knowledge of NCAA rules and rules compliance

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to sit at desk for long periods

  • Ability to read and comprehend written symbols and words

  • Ability to attend and address facility and operations issues at on campus events
