Assistant Softball Coach

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists with the player development as it relates to proper technique, advanced skill instruction, and competition strategy.

  • Assists with evaluation and recruitment of student-athletes and prospective student athletes.

  • Evaluates the performance, conduct, and abilities of individuals and groups as assigned by the Head Coach and Associate Head Coach.

  • Assists, develops, and participates in program planning, game and practice preparation/schedules, and game day activities.

  • Monitors and assists in areas as assigned including skill development in the outfield, recruitment, travel schedules (specifically food orders), academic enhancement, equipment, alumnae events, camps/clinics, fundraisers, practice and game preparation, and administrative duties.

  • Organizes all alumnae contacts and plans all Alumnae Day operations.

  • Creates, assists, plans, and organizes all Camps and Clinics.

  • Communicates effectively with university departments, staff, and student-athletes.

  • Available to participate in public relations activities and community outreach programs as well as marketing and development initiatives.

  • All staff members are responsible for complying with the policies and procedures set forth by Hofstra University, the Coastal Athletic Association, the NCAA and the job requirements specific to the particular assignments inherent to softball.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Head Coach, Associate Head Coach, and/or Athletic Director.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • At least 1-3 years of Division I coaching experience.

  • This position requires working weekends and holidays and attending athletic events as appropriate.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree preferred.
