Assistant Director – Facilities, Operations & Events (Facilities Manager I)

JOB SUMMARY

This position supports the Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities, Operations, & Events with oversight in the areas of event operations, external rentals, and athletic facilities.  Additionally, this position facilitates and coordinates building operations within an assigned facility. Includes coordination of building maintenance and repairs, office moves, delivery and installation of furniture and equipment, building access control and deliveries. This position will interact on a consistent basis with building occupants, department heads, contractors, vendors and visitors.

JOB DUTIES

  • Serve as volleyball and softball primary event manager and assist for other event operations team members as needed.

  • Serve as Shirley Clements Mewborn Stadium and O’Keefe Gymnasium facility manager.

  • Assist with all NCAA and ACC championships hosted by GT Athletics.

  • Oversee assigned event operations and revenue budget to meet established goals.

  • Manage special projects as assigned.

  • Assist in the development and execution of contingency plans for emergency and severe weather scenarios.

  • Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with key internal and external constituents.

  • Cooperate with the Athletics compliance office regarding NCAA rules and policies, including reporting requirements, and make a determined effort to ensure that staff and teams are in compliance.

  • Exhibit the GT Athletics core values of character, excellence, teamwork, and innovation. Promote these values throughout the organization with a focus on fulfilling the GT Athletics mission.

  • Manage building maintenance functions (both routine and emergency); ensure activities are carried out in a complete and timely manner.

  • Arrange for office moves within facility; ensure they are carried out as scheduled.

  • Coordinate delivery and installation of building equipment.

  • Maintain building access control system including card entry and office key management.

  • Facilitate arrangements of special events scheduled for facility.

  • Order building repair services as needed.

  • Coordinate outside vendor/contractor services.

  • Coordinate annual equipment inventory and maintain related records.

  • Manage and update emergency preparedness plan for facility(facilities) and all related documents and procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma

Other Required Qualifications

  •  Valid Georgia Driver's License.  Work involves adherence to applicable safety precautions.  Typically requires lifting objects up to 25 pounds and standing for extended periods of time.

Required Experience

  • Three to five years job related experience
