Monitor policies, programs and practices that ensure that the Georgia Tech Athletic Association (GTAA) and its sports programs are in compliance with all rules and regulations as defined by the Association, the Institute, the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). This position will interact on a consistent basis with: GTAA staff, coaches, and student- athletes. This position typically will advise and counsel: GTAA staff, coaches, and student-athletes. This position will supervise: N/A.
Job Duty 1 - Provide support with the evaluation, development, and execution of all compliance-related activities, including advising on policy/protocol change, and representing the compliance office.
Job Duty 2 - Monitor performance relative to applicable rules and policies; investigate and report possible NCAA violations.
Job Duty 3 - Direct student-athletes as appropriate toward assistance with financial aid, academics and general needs that can be provided through GTAA.
Job Duty 4 - Assist in the execution of a comprehensive monitoring program. Areas of emphasis include monitoring activities in Bylaw 11 (Personnel), Bylaw 13 (Recruiting), Bylaw 16 (Awards and Benefits), and Bylaw 17 (Playing Seasons).
Job Duty 5 - Assist as a liaison for NCAA compliance-related matters with Institute constituents, including but not limited to, the Registrar, Bursar, and Financial Aid.
Job Duty 6 - Work cooperatively with non-Georgia Tech entities including the NCAA and the ACC.
Job Duty 7 - Assist constituents with the development and submission of NCAA waiver requests, as necessary.
Job Duty 8 - Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Sports Administration, Contracts or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
One to two years of job related experience
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's degree or Juris Doctorate (JD).
