George Fox University's Athletic Department is seeking a highly-motivated and organized leader to join their team as the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach.
About the Job:
The mission of the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach is to lead, develop and coach the Lacrosse team in intercollegiate athletic contests and to administer a supporting program for Women's Lacrosse. The individual in this position must exemplify a commitment to learning, integrity, and service reflective of the principles of Jesus Christ. With student-athletes as the primary focus, availability to coach, educate, and mentor is essential while adhering to rules and regulations governing University, Northwest Conference and NCAA Division III.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Scheduling and conducting practice/training sessions and coaching student-athletes. (40%)
Scheduling competitions, arranging for travel, hotel and meals. (20%)
Actively recruiting athletically and academically qualified student-athletes. (20%)
Handling all program administrative functions which could include but is not limited to: (5%)
NCAA eligibility, communication with sports marketing, public relations, and departmental meetings and paperwork. Maintaining NCAA Division III, Northwest Conference and George Fox regulations.
Budgeting preparation and management; as well as fund-raising activities. (5%)
Hiring and supervising assistant coaches. (5%)
Host and operate at least one Bruin Sports Camp for women's lacrosse each summer. (5%)
Articulating the mission of the George Fox University athletic program in ways that align with the "Be Known" vision of the University.
Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.

A day in the life of this position:
The Head Women's Lacrosse Coach position is a highly diverse role which varies day-to-day, in-season, and out-of-season. This individual must model a life of learning, integrity and service around the person and work of Jesus Christ. Student-athletes are our primary focus and therefore this position requires an immense amount of availability to help coach, educate and mentor. Our Head Women's Lacrosse Coach must excel in organizational and analytical skills to assist with program administrative functions and recruiting. This is a highly visible position within the community.
We're looking for candidates who have:
A Bachelor's degree with a minimum four years coaching experience at the collegiate level or demonstrated successful head coaching experience on the high school level.
The ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, including on telephone, and to understand and follow instructions.
Recruiting experience.
A clean driving record along with the ability to provide proof of a valid driver's license and pass the University Driver Certification.
The ability to work weekends, evenings and travel.
The ability to manage multiple tasks and actively participate in practices.
Knowledge of NCAA Rules.
The ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, including on the telephone, and to understand and follow instructions.
Knowledge of computer applications, organizational abilities, event planning and camps, fund raising, financial management and recruiting ability and demonstrated commitment or experience working with diverse populations.
A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.

Hours Per Week: 40 hours (1.0 FTE)
This position requires irregular office hours including after-hours and weekend work to attend competitions, practices, etc.
Primary Work Location: Newberg Campus
Local and national travel is required.
Working Conditions: Physical requirements could include lifting more than 25 pounds and performing any activities such as balancing, bending/stooping, climbing stairs, crawling, crouching, climbing ladders, kneeling, repetitive motion or reaching above shoulder level.
