Strength and Conditioning Assistant Coach
Frostburg State University Athletics Department is accepting applications for a full-time contractual exempt Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach position with an anticipated start date of July 30, 2025. The starting Annual Salary is approximately $40,000 based on contract length, which is not negotiable.
The following benefits will be available on an annual basis:
· University System of Maryland Tuition Remission program.
· Five (5) days of annual leave
· Specific Holidays
· Three (3) days of sick leave
· May participate in the State Health Insurance programs (medical, prescription and/or dental, etc.) that are available to State employees. Staff working 30 hours or more per week are eligible for the applicable state subsidy for medical and prescription coverage.
FSU boasts 25 varsity sports (11 men/14 women) at the NCAA Division II level that compete in the Mountain East Conference and the East Coast Conference.
Responsibilities: Fitness and Weight Room facility management; develop the physical strength, endurance, flexibility, and agility of FSU student-athletes; program design customized to each sport’s specific needs; provide direct instruction to athletes, as well as provide assessment and feedback, to assure proper execution of training techniques. Document athletes’ workouts; provide and assist in the prevention, care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries; advise on prevention and care of athletic injuries; other related administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Fitness/Strength & Conditioning.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and one year of coaching or other related work experience in the strength and conditioning or fitness field. Current National Strength and Conditioning Association CSCS certification.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree and/or two years of coaching experience in the strength and conditioning or fitness field. Previous experience at the collegiate level.
