Head Coach Cross Country, Assistant Coach Track and Field
Frostburg State University (FSU), Athletics Department seeks applications for a full-time, exempt Head Coach of Cross Country, Assistant Coach Track and Field. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Responsibilities: The purpose of the Head Cross Country and Assistant Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field Coach position is to administer all aspects of Men’s and Women’s Cross Country programs and serve as an Assistant Coach for Men’s and Women’s Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field. The Head Coach position will manage and oversee the daily operations of the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country programs including: practice, gameday activities, recruiting, budget management, academic monitoring, and mentoring of student-athletes. The Head Coach will recruit and maintain a roster of 18 runners both for men’s and women’s cross country. These student-athletes are expected to be successful in the classroom, socially responsible, and competitive within the Mountain East and NCAA Division II. As the Assistant Coach for Men’s and Women’s Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field the Assistant Coach will be expected to assist with administration of the indoor and outdoor programs with an emphasis on training the middle and long distance disciplines. This position is expected to work collaboratively with the Head Coach of Track & Field.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. At least 3-5 years of coaching experience at the high school and/or collegiate level. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Proven ability to recruit student-athletes.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree and professional certification via United States Track and Field (USATF) or United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Professional experience coaching track and field and cross country at high school and/or collegiate levels.
