Senior Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine/Athletic Healthcare Administrator

●      Establish and sustain an organizational culture that values staff experience, skill acquisition, professional mobility, professional development, and continuing education.

●      Build a culture of trust that emphasizes staff cohesion, teamwork, and shared accountability, fostering an environment where all staff feel invested in and aligned with the athletic department’s mission, vision, and core values.

●      Oversee budget, insurance coordination, billing, inventory, personnel, and capital resources to support a high-quality student-athlete experience.

●      Maintain compliance with all state and national licensure requirements, NCAA and conference regulations, and ensure the same for direct reports.

●      Collaborate with campus and external stakeholders, including but not limited to Student Health, EMS, medical service providers, surgical and rehabilitation centers, drug/alcohol counseling, and the Counseling Center.

●      Provide direct oversight and coordination of day-to-day Athletic Training and Medical Services operations and facility management:

○      Recruit, train, develop, and retain a highly motivated and competent sports medicine staff dedicated to the health, safety, and wellness of student-athletes.

○      Model and reinforce professionalism, ethical standards, and alignment with institutional values.

○      Ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to detailed medical documentation systems, procedures, and platforms.

○      Administer the drug-testing program in compliance with University and NCAA rules/regulations.

○      Overseeing emergency action plans and ongoing health, safety, and wellness education for staff and student-athletes.

○      Maintain compliance with the NCAA Membership Attestation Requirements, ensuring the institution is compliant with consensus-based health, safety, and performance guidance, including, but not limited to, cardiovascular care, independent medical care, prevention of catastrophic injury and death, concussion, and mental health best practices.

●      Serve as the clinical lead of a multi-disciplinary student-athlete health & well-being team in conjunction with department directors, providing oversight of Sports Medicine, Sports Nutrition, Strength and Conditioning, and Sport Psychology.

○      Review, develop, and enforce streamlined policies and procedures rooted in best practices and optimal standards of care, in collaboration with respective area directors.

○      Develop and enforce best-practice policies and procedures for optimal standards of care.

○      Monitor injury trends, treatment outcomes, and quality improvement initiatives.

●      Act as primary liaison with NCAA and conference offices on health and safety matters, ensuring timely reporting and compliance.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and/or the Deputy Athletics Director.
