Assistant Athletic Director of Development

  • Directs all fundraising activities and initiates the development of donor cultivation, development of proposals, and solicitations of gifts and grants at the major and principal gift levels, specifically focused on the unit. Develops a robust/comprehensive strategy and annual campaign for all sports, to secure major gift funding from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Gathers data, assess prospects, and develop strategies to realize the lifetime giving potential of individual prospects. Utilizes gift reports to find new prospects for special and major gifts.

  • Establishes and proactively manages a portfolio of up to 150 potential partners, donors, and prospects, and premium seating prospects. Engages in university-wide
    prospect management, cultivation, and stewardship of donors and prospects to mutually benefit all sports programs. Manages prospective donors, meetings, and other institutional performance metrics. Participates in and adheres to university- wide prospect management guidelines and protocols for cultivation and stewardship of donors and prospects.

  • Responsible for stewardship and oversight of gifts. Ensures the awarding of scholarship funds, established by charitable donations and for stewarding scholarship gifts of the assigned unit. May plan, oversee, and manage donor stewardship activities in collaboration with Donor Relations & Stewardship. Manages all events for stewardship and solicitation, as needed. 

  • Recruits and retains annual campaign members. Helps maintain the membership the donor database, track revenue and membership from donors.

  • Provides oversight for development and composition and distribution of monthly newsletters and weekly e-mail blasts for annual campaign membership. Approves all communication and written correspondence, including renewal letters, invoices, and fulfillment of donor benefits. Travels to meet with and personally solicit previous and potential donors on various campuses and businesses, locally, nationally, internationally, and throughout the
    community. Attends meeting, gatherings, or College/University sponsored events. Documents contact and prospect moves, tracking progress using Raiser's Edge/FPM, and adhering to University Advancement prospect. Operates a motor vehicle in the performance of these duties. 

  • Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits. Displays honesty, integrity, and ethics to donors. Treats every person, encounter, and situation with a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity (especially matters pertaining to academic and personal data of student athletes and any information either directly or indirectly impacting the University and/or Athletic Department). Reviews, understands, and abides by all department procedures.

  • Serves as a University card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to University credit card policies and procedures. Handles cash or check transactions as needed. 

  • Attends all Development and Advancement-related meetings. Display a high degree of confidentiality. Complies with University policies and meets minimum performance standards as well as achieves annual established goals.

  • Adheres to all State of Florida, University, NCAA, Conference USA and department rules and policies pertaining to the position of Development Officers. Reports any known NCAA violations or concerns to the Director of Athletic Compliance and be responsible for the monitoring of any subordinate as it relates to NCAA regulations.
