Job Description
The Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance reports to the Chief Compliance & Ethics Officer at Florida Atlantic University with a dotted line to the VP and Director of Athletics (or designee). This position will lead the departmental athletics compliance program by creating, maintaining and monitoring a compliant environment that results in clear institutional control.
Specific duties include:
Leading the Athletics Compliance Office and overseeing the management of all processes, procedures, and systems necessary to assist the department in complying with NCAA, conference, and any other essential governing bodies rules and regulations for 19 NCAA Division I men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports;
Supervising and training of two full-time AMP employees;
Developing and maintaining a compliance education program on NCAA and conference rules and regulations for all student-athletes, coaches, and staff;
Collaborating with other athletics personnel to provide leadership, guidance, policies, and procedures regarding the changing landscape of college athletics;
Administering and overseeing the necessary annual compliance requirements for the department, including coaches, staff, and student-athletes;
Working collaboratively with campus partners to ensure a compliant and efficient environment for the department of athletics and university as a whole;
Overseeing investigations of rules violations in consultation with internal and external constituents as needed, reporting requirements, and appeal and waiver processes;
Serving as a sport supervisor to an NCAA sponsored sport as assigned by the VP and Director of Athletics; and
Serving as a member of executive and senior staff for the Department of Athletics as assigned by the VP and Director of Athletics.
