Job Summary

 

The Head Coach of the Women’s Volleyball program is responsible for a clear understanding and adherence to NCAA Division III policies and mission statement of Endicott College. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership; demonstrate a philosophy that emphasizes academic priorities for student-athletes, as well as a commitment to the growth of a diverse community, and alumni base. This individual must embrace the importance of being a visible and engaging leader that has the capacity to work as a team player within the department and College. Additional responsibilities will be expected within the department of Athletics in regard to Recreation and Intramural programming or Game Day Management.

 

Key Outcomes

 

Lead, structure and manage the Women's Volleyball program to facilitate student-athlete development and success.

●       Organize a structured plan for growth, develop, opportunity and success for the season and nontraditional segments.

●       Oversee academic performance and maintain team GPA that mirrors or is higher than the department standard of a 3.30 GPA

●       Organize a competitive schedule to maximize chances for post season success.

●       Hire and supervise assistant coach and their development.

●        Assist Institutional Advancement fundraising initiatives specific to women’s volleyball.

●        Increase alumni engagement and donations for continued success of the volleyball program.

 

Identify and recruit qualified student-athletes, with a keen focus on academic success and standards, that contribute to the success and diversity of the Women’s Volleyball program, department and college.

●       Recruit qualified student-athletes who will succeed in both academics and athletics.

●       Identify key geographical areas to enhance diverse population recruitment.

●       Establish and maintain relationships with top club and high school coaches and attend key showcases and recruiting events to attract top level talent.

 

Additional responsibilities within the Department of Athletics involving Game Day Management, Coordination of Intramural or other identified area.

●       Organize, promote and run intramural events on campus with the goal of increasing participation of the student body.

●       Organize and lead game day management, student supervision, pre-game set up and post-game break down and crowd control management.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Bachelor Degree, Master preferred and a minimum of five years college coaching experience. Preferably head coaching experience.

• Strong program management skills

• Significant knowledge and passion for recruiting database systems and digital editing systems.

• Experience in coaching or teaching; scheduling and supervising activities

• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and leadership skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends
