Position Summary

 

The Assistant Athletics Director for Creative Services will oversee the storytelling initiatives of the Athletics Department, in conjunction with the Communications Department of the Athletics Department. The position will conceptualize and execute creative video projects, including all videoboard projects (intro videos, etc.), social media pieces, commercials, highlights, and more. Along with executing creative video projects, this position oversees broadcasting and creative content creation to unify the storytelling of the department. This position reports to the Associate AD for Strategic Communications.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

 

• Bachelor's Degree Required. 1-2 years of creative video production or creative services experience.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

 

• Master's Degree Preferred.

 

Job Duties

 

• Shoot and create video content for all 17 NCAA Division I sports and the entirety of the Athletics Department in collaboration with a staff of student videographers. This includes intro videos and all videoboard pieces, as well as production and distribution of video across social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube), to include feature stories, highlights, previews, etc.

 

• Supervise and manage two full-time staff to develop storytelling initiatives and distribute content to the appropriate platform. Work directly with the Elon Sports Vision (ESV) staff and students to incorporate storylines and relevant content into athletics broadcasts.

 

• Supervise student employees in creative video and mentoring and teaching a work force to produce video content.

Collaborate in brainstorming meetings to elevate the graphic design, branding and story-telling opportunities for the athletics department across social media, videoboard shows, broadcasts, fundraising, university-controlled media outlets and marketing.

 

• Complies with all University and CAA regulations, as well as all NCAA rules and regulations. Remains current with all changes in NCAA, as well as changes to University and CAA rules and regulations regarding intercollegiate athletics. This includes the requirement for self-reporting any possible rule violations and participation in the annual NCAA continuing education programs including passing the NCAA certification test, if applicable. Any violation of NCAA rules is prohibited.
