Position: Women’s Lacrosse Assistant Coach

I. Position Summary
The Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in various phases of the program. This includes, but is not limited to, the planning, development, and implementation of activities in the following areas: planning and supervision of team practices and contests; control of equipment and supplies; and recruiting, retention, and advisement of student-athletes. The Assistant Coach is accountable for modeling a professional demeanor as is inherent in higher education and athletics as well as for mentoring student-athletes with an emphasis in Christian formation. This position is responsible for working with the Head Coach to ensure that all Women’s Lacrosse activities support the mission of the University and are in compliance with all University, MAC, and NCAA rules and policies.
· Support the Head Coach in the comprehensive management and daily operations of the Women’s Lacrosse program.
· Collaborate with the Head Coach to recruit and maintain a competitive roster of 25 student-athletes.
· Actively participate in year-round recruiting efforts, including attending events in the fall, spring, and summer, to identify and attract student-athletes who align with Eastern University’s mission and values.
· Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration with coaching staff, peers, and student-athletes.
· Contribute to all facets of coaching, including practice planning, skill development sessions, game preparation, and video analysis.
· Assist with program logistics such as fundraising initiatives, team travel, spring break planning, prospective student-athlete visits (official/unofficial), and team-building activities.
· Ensure compliance with Eastern University, NCAA, and MAC regulations, policies, and procedures.
· Exemplify a strong commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy, prioritizing the holistic development and well-being of student-athletes.
· Foster a positive and collaborative working relationship with athletic department staff, coaches, and student-athletes.
· Attend all departmental and administrative meetings as required by the Director of Athletics and athletic leadership.
· Develop engaging content and contribute creative ideas to enhance the program’s presence on social media platforms.
· Fulfill a secondary responsibility as assigned by the Director of Athletics, such as game management or facility supervision.
· Model and promote the core values of caring and compassion, justice and integrity, competence, and affirmation.
· Demonstrate a commitment to equity and respect by treating all members of the campus community with dignity, promoting unity, and contributing to a culture of inclusion and shared mission.
III. Status: Staff, Full-time, 40 hours per week, 10 months per year.

B. Supervisor: Brian Bingaman, Interim Director of Athletics, Heidi Birtwistle Senior Women’s Administrator
A Bachelor’s degree is required. Demonstrate knowledge in NCAA DIII rules along with the MAC Conference. Ability to learn and use various recruiting software and social media platforms.
The ability, and desire, to work successfully within a team-oriented department environment is required. A commitment to the Division III philosophy of athletics, a working knowledge of NCAA rules, and a demonstrated ability to recruit, retain and mentor student-athletes is essential. Candidates must exhibit an understanding of, and support for, the University’s Christian Mission. Additional qualifications include excellent interpersonal and organization skills and an ability to effectively communicate the mission and vision of Eastern University and the Athletic Department to alumni and friends of the university.
