Head Athletic Trainer

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Head Athletic Trainer provides strategic leadership and clinical oversight for a comprehensive athletic training program supporting varsity and club sport student-athletes. The role supports organization and administration of sports medicine services, coordination of services with other sports medicine professionals, NCAA health and safety compliance, and athletic healthcare policy development. Minimum travel is required, although night and weekend work may be required. The successful candidate will have a major influence on future student-athlete wellness initiatives. This is a full-time, 12-month position, reporting to the Director of Athletics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
*Master’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Healthcare Administration or a related field
*Licensed in the State of Connecticut as an athletic trainer
*Board of Certification (BOC) ATC Credential
*Minimum of five years of athletic training experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
*PhD in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Healthcare Administration
*Experience leading or overseeing a sports medicine program
*Prior experience in collegiate athletic training
*Knowledge of strength and conditioning practices
*First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Certification

COMPENSATION AND EMPLOYEE BENEFITS: 
The Head Athletic Trainer is compensated at the Rank III salary level in accordance with Connecticut State University American Association of University Professors (AAUP).
