Associate Commissioner of Athletic Administration

The Associate Commissioner will play an integral role in managing the governance and operations of the conference’s 20 sports, ensuring the success of championship events, and serving as a primary liaison to various committees, including the Sports Committee, Compliance, and FAR liaison.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance:

  1. Serve as the Conference Compliance Coordinator and main compliance contact for all conference members.

  2. Oversee a system of conference compliance education, including monthly compliance meetings.

  3. Assist with rules interpretations and oversee hardship waivers

  4. Monitor playing and practice seasons and eligibility lists.

  5. Compile conference and NCAA reports.

  6. Participate in monthly CCACA meetings and report to membership as needed.

Championships:

  1. Serve as liaison with designated sport committees - Organize meetings, prepare agendas and topics, complete meeting minutes and distribute.

  2. Oversee management and updates as needed for all conference sport codes and championship handbooks.

  3. Serve as primary liaison for Championship conference events - Coordinate officials, supervise pre-event activities, meetings and in game operations.

  4. Serve as main contact for ticketing operations.

  5. Develop, manage review, and distribute all conference sport schedules.

  6. Oversee championship supplies, signage, and participant gifts. 

Other:

  1. Act on behalf of the Commissioner in their absence

  2. Serve as liaison with the FAR committee to include bi-annual meetings, and collaboration with designees.  

  3. Committee representation oversight – ensure ECC representation is occupied on opportunities – Coaches Connection, RAC, and NCAA Committees.

  4. Other duties as assigned

 

This role offers an opportunity for leadership and growth, and close collaboration with member institutions and conference committees. This position reports directly to the Commissioner. Candidates are expected to reside in the geographic footprint of the conference.

Qualifications and Key Attributes

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, masters preferred

  • Minimum of five years working in related field of college athletics

  • Ability to be managed and work effectively remotely

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and online communication skills are essential

  • Knowledge of NCAA Division II athletics and a commitment to supporting the student-athlete experience

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines

  • Certain times of the year will require travel, night, and weekend work
